Yesterday was Flag day. We had a few activities in class about this national 'holiday'. We made a beaded key chain of the American flag and answered some questions. One of the questions was What do you think of when you see an American flag flying? I thought about this and normally I really don't think much of it. But when I really think about it I feel proud. My favorite part of our National Anthem is the part where it says "Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"
This song, the flag, the soldiers, the people these things all make me proud that I live in a great country with my great family =) In case your wondering what I wrote down for my answer I wrote " When I see my flag flying high I feel so proud, so lucky, so grateful, touched, simply happy." As for the other questions they were silly, like how many stars are there on the american flag? Haha, I answered that "Ummm 49?". Just kidding. Anyway I challenge you to think about what you really think about when you see the american flag. 9.1.01 perhaps? War? Comment on what your answer would be =) Moment of silence? Nah.Anyway I don't think that will happen since Jess, your the only one who reads my blog and you have the little munchkins =P
Haha. So Jess what do you think of when you see the flag up? *laugh*
